Recap: Louisiana vs. Ark-Little Rock

Lafayette, LA (Sports Network) - Bryant Mbamalu scored a game-high 26 points as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns posted a 79-70 win over the Trojans of Arkansas-Little Rock in Sun Belt Conference action at the Cajundome.

Alan-Michael Thompson added 13 points, Elfrid Payton 12 and Shawn Long 10 points to go along with a team-high 13 rebounds and five blocked shots for the Ragin' Cajuns (6-9, 2-2 SBC) as they won for the second time in the last three outings.

UALR (8-7, 2-2), still winless in five true road games this season, was paced by Will Neighbour who recorded a double-double with 17 points and a game-high 14 boards, followed by Josh Hagins with 14 points in the setback.

The Trojans shot just 9-of-26 from the floor in the first half, including 1- of-6 behind the 3-point line, but the team saved itself with an impressive 18- of-20 at the free-throw line in order to secure a 37-34 lead at the break.

Unfortunately, the second half saw UALR drop to a mere 29.3 percent accuracy from the field, 3-of-14 on the perimeter, as the Ragin' Cajuns bounced back to capture the home win.

Louisiana captured the decision thanks to 54.2 percent shooting from the field in the second half, 49.1 percent for the game.
