Recap: Citadel vs. Ga Southern

Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - Cleon Roberts scored a game-high 20 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Georgia Southern Eagles posted a 78-57 win over the Bulldogs of The Citadel in Southern Conference play at McAlister Field House.

Eric Ferguson accounted for 14 points off the bench for the Eagles (11-15, 5-8 SoCon) followed by Brian Holmes and C.J. Reed with 11 and 10 points, respectively, as the squad snapped a two-game slide.

The Bulldogs (6-18, 3-11) were paced by P.J. Horgan who recorded 19 points and a game-high eight rebounds, while Marshall Harris III added 10 points and four assists in the team's third straight setback.

The visitors opened the meeting on a 9-3 run and shot an impressive 61.3 percent from the floor in the first half, en route to a 47-29 edge at the break.

In the second half the Eagles dipped to 41.7 percent accuracy from the field, but still managed to cruise to the comfortable victory.

The Citadel finished the night shooting only 3-of-16 behind the 3-point line and 12-of-24 at the charity stripe.
