Recap: Citadel vs. Davidson

Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - Nik Cochran scored 18 points to lead the Davidson Wildcats to a 72-57 win over The Citadel Bulldogs in a Southern Conference bout at McAlister Fieldhouse.

Chris Czerapowicz and Jake Cohen netted 14 and 13 points, respectively, and JP Kuhlman finished with 10 points and seven assists as Davidson (19-7, 14-1 SoCon) won a 10th consecutive game. Tyler Kalinoski accounted for another 10 points off the bench as well.

Mike Groselle paced The Citadel (6-19, 3-12) with 21 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the floor, while P.J. Horgan registered a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards.

After trailing by as much as eight early on, Davidson finished the first half on a 26-7 run and led 37-20 at intermission. The Wildcats made 4-of-5 from behind the arc and 9-of-10 at the foul line in the opening period.

The Bulldogs scored nine points before the first media timeout of the second half but were unable to stop Davidson on the other end. Consecutive baskets by Cochran and an old fashioned three-point play by De'Mon Brooks at the 8:04 mark put the game away for the Wildcats.

Davidson had just eight turnovers as it improved to 96-45 all-time over The Citadel.
