Recap: North Dakota St vs. UMKC

Fargo, ND (Sports Network) - Mike Felt scored a game-high 14 points off the bench as the North Dakota State Bison crushed the Kangaroos of UMKC, 71-34, in Summit League action at Bison Sports Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Bison (17-5, 8-2 Summit) were Marshall Bjorklund and Kory Brown with 12 points apiece as the team snapped a two-game slide.

The Kangaroos (6-17, 3-7), held to their fewest points ever in a Summit League bout, failed to have a single player score in double figures as they bowed for the third time in as many games. Trinity Hall accounted for nine points in 23 minutes of action.

UMKC actually led by three points early on in the meeting, but the squad ended up converting just 5-of-21 (.238) from the floor in the first half, en route to a 28-12 halftime deficit. The margin could have easily been greater if not for the fact that the Bison shot just 1-of-10 behind the 3-point line through the first 20 minutes of play.

In the second half NDSU continued to pile on with 50.0 percent accuracy from the field and an improved 5-of-11 effort out on the perimeter.

The Kangaroos were charged with 18 turnovers, against just four assists, and were dominated on the glass by a massive 43-24 margin.

The defensive effort by NDSU matched the modern era record (since 1950) for points allowed to a four-year school, the team having given up just 34 points to Jamestown College during the 2005-06 campaign.
