Recap: Coll of Charleston vs. UNC Greensboro

Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - Trent Wiedeman came off the bench to record a double-double with 14 points as the College of Charleston Cougars cruised by the UNC Greensboro Spartans, 81-59, in Southern Conference action at TD Arena.

Wiedeman recorded a game-high 12 rebounds in the Cougars' (16-7, 8-3 SoCon) victory. Andrew Lawrence scored a team-high 17 points and six assists. Willis Hall was one board shy of a double-double with 12 points. Adjehi Baru and Anthony Stitt scored 10 points a piece as Charleston won a fourth consecutive game.

For the Spartans (6-15, 4-6), Kayel Locke scored a game-high 21 points to go with four boards. Trevis Simpson recorded 15 points and four boards but was the only other Spartan in double-figures as UNC Greensboro lost a second consecutive game.

Charleston jumped out to an early 22-9 lead and never looked back eventually claiming a 37-24 advantage at the break.

UNC Greensboro trailed by at least nine points for the entire second half as the Cougars took a 22-point victory.

Charleston was 10-of-21 from 3-point range while holding the visitors to a mere 2-of-14 from beyond the arc on the night.
