Recap: Oakland vs. UMKC

Rochester, MI (Sports Network) - Travis Bader scored a game-high 30 points as the Oakland Golden Grizzlies recorded an 81-68 win over the Kangaroos of UMKC in Summit League play at the O'rena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Golden Grizzlies (8-12, 3-3 Summit) were Drew Valentine and Corey Petros with 19 and 16 points, respectively, with the latter also leading the way on the glass with 10 boards. Ryan Bass filled out his stat line with nine points, seven assists and six rebounds as the team snapped a three-game slide.

The Kangaroos (5-14, 2-5), losers of 10 of the last 11 games, were paced by Estan Tyler who dropped in 20 points, shooting 4-of-7 behind the 3-point line, while Nelson Kirksey tacked on 10 in the setback.

UMKC led by three points early in the first half and even though the hosts connected on a sizzling 66.7 percent from the floor in the period, the teams remained tied at the break, 33-33.

In the second half Oakland dipped to 46.2 percent accuracy from the field, but at the same time feasted at the free-throw line (19-of-24) in order to come away with the double-digit win.

With the victory Oakland, which turned the ball over 20 times, has now won 10 straight home games.
