Recap: Oakland vs. South Dakota

Rochester, MI (Sports Network) - Casey Kasperbauer led the way with 23 points as the South Dakota Coyotes took down the Oakland Golden Grizzlies, 97-78, in a Summit League tilt at the O'rena.

Six Coyotes (8-12, 4-4 Summit) scored in double figures, as Juevol Myles added 17 points, Brandon Bos scored 13 points, Trevor Gruis and Jordan Boots each netted 11 points, and Karim Rowson chipped in with 10 points.

Travis Bader led the Golden Grizzlies (8-13, 3-4) with 19 points, while Drew Valentine posted a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Duke Mondy scored 17 points and Corey Petros added 10 points for the home team.

South Dakota shot very well to open the contest, connecting on 56.7 percent from the field and 6-of-12 from beyond the 3-point arc in the first half, as it took a 48-40 lead into intermission. Oakland made 46.9 percent of its field goal tries in the frame, including 5-of-11 from 3-point range.

The Coyotes' field goal efficiency improved to 58.6 percent after the break as they cruised to the 19-point victory.

The Coyotes outscored the Golden Grizzlies at the free-throw line, 19-7. Both teams were impressive from 3-point range, with South Dakota shooting 10-of-19 and Oakland making 11-of-28.
