Recap: Arkansas State vs. Fla Atlantic

Jonesboro, AR (Sports Network) - Brandon Peterson had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Arkansas State Red Wolves who defeated the Florida Atlantic Owls, 63-38, in a Sun Belt Conference matchup at the ASU Convocation Center.

Peterson was 6-of-9 from the field with three steals for the Red Wolves (12-8, 6-5 Sun Belt), who have won two of their last three. Marcus Hooten was 3-of-3 from beyond the arc with 14 points while Trey Finn and Kelvin Downs added 11 points each.

Greg Gantt had 13 points and was the only FAU (10-12, 5-6) player in double- figure scoring as the Owls suffered their third loss in a row and were held to their lowest point total of the season. Richard Morrow had seven points with seven rebounds.

Arkansas State led 30-18 at halftime after holding the Owls to just 27.3 percent shooting from the field and 0-of-6 shooting from 3-point range.

The Red Wolves shot 48.1 percent from the floor in the second half and outscored FAU 33-20.

Arkansas State forced the Owls into 21 turnovers and scored 27 points off those mistakes.
