Recap: Ga Southern vs. Davidson

Statesboro, GA (Sports Network) - C.J. Reed scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Georgia Southern Eagles to a 70-57 victory over the Davidson Wildcats in a Southern Conference matchup at Hanner Fieldhouse.

Eric Ferguson added 14 points and three blocks for Georgia Southern (7-10, 1-3 SoCon), which snapped a three-game losing streak. Marvin Baynham chipped in 10 points off the bench.

Chris Czerapowicz tallied 13 points for Davidson (9-7, 4-1) as it had its 11- game winning streak versus the Eagles come to an end. Tyler Kalinoski scored 11 points and Jake Cohen netted 10 in the first conference loss of the season for the Wildcats.

Georgia Southern came out hot and hit 10-of-13 from the floor, including 3- of-3 from beyond the arc to jump out to a 25-13 lead. The Wildcats rallied back as halftime neared and 3-pointers by Kalinoski and Clint Mann made it 35-31 at the break.

Davidson continued to struggle and made only 30 percent of its field goal attempts in the second half. The Eagles cruised to the win by converting 10- of-16 free throw attempts in the final 20 minutes.

Georgia Southern shot 53.1 percent from the field to end its 11-game losing streak to Davidson.
