Macomb, IL (Sports Network) - Nate Wolters tallied 22 points, six assists, and five rebounds to help lead the South Dakota State Jackrabbits to a 59-53 victory over the Western Illinois Leathernecks in Summit League action at Western Hall.

With his performance, Wolters became the first player in program history to score 2,000 career points. He shot 8-of-13 from the field and also swiped three steals for SDSU (14-6, 5-2 Summit), which has won three straight games. For WIU (14-4, 6-1), Jack Houpt made 4-of-9 from 3-point range en route to 16 points, and Terell Parks recorded a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Adam Link added 13 points for the Leathernecks, who had won their previous 11 games.

SDSU outshot WIU from the floor in the first half, 45.8 percent to 40 percent, as it took a 28-23 lead into intermission.

The Leathernecks battled back after the break, and they tied the game, 50-50, on a pair of Link free throws with just over three minutes remaining, but the Jackrabbits closed out the contest on a 9-3 run to seal the win.

Both teams took good care of the basketball, with SDSU coughing it up nine times and WIU committing just six turnovers.
