Recap: Elon vs. Samford

Elon, NC (Sports Network) - Lucas Troutman posted a 26-point, 10-rebound double-double as the Elon Phoenix earned a 77-66 victory over the Samford Bulldogs in a Southern Conference battle at Alumni Gymnasium.

Jack Isenbarger added 22 points for Elon (15-7, 8-2 SoCon) which has won seven straight.

Connor Miller had 21 points, Tim Williams added 19 and Clide Geffrard Jr. had a double-double of his own with 17 points and 11 rebounds for Samford (7-15, 5-4) which has lost three straight.

In the first half Elon shot at a 46.4 percent clip and knocked down 7-of-15 from beyond the arc and 12-of-15 from the free-throw line to take a 45-38 lead into the break.

After halftime the Phoenix shot 52 percent from the floor, while holding Samford to just 41.7 percent, to coast to the win.

Elon forced 17 turnovers which turned into 19 points while turning it over only eight times itself.
