Recap: Wofford vs. Elon

Spartanburg, SC (Sports Network) - Spencer Collins scored 16 points for the Wofford Terriers as they upset the Southern Conference leading Elon Phoenix, 60-50, in a league bout at the Johnson Arena.

Collins was one of three Terriers (9-15, 3-8 SoCon) to score in double-figures to help the squad ended a three-game losing streak. Karl Cochran added 13 points and two steals while Lee Skinner managed 10 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Indiana Faithfull was the games top rebounder with eight.

Ryley Beaumont was 7-of-10 from the field and led all scorers with 17 points to go with seven rebounds for the Phoenix (15-8, 8-3), who saw their seven game winning streak come to a close. Sebastian Koch scored 12 points while Lucas Troutman added 10.

Elon led 22-21 at the break after both teams shot well under 40.0 percent from the field in the first half.

In the second half the Terriers found a groove and shot 52.2 percent from the field to outscore the Phoenix 39-28 and earn the upset victory.

Turnovers cost Elon, which turned the ball over 14 times leading to 21 points for Wofford. The Terriers also earned an edge at the free-throw line, going 17-of-23 while the Phoenix were just 5-of-12.
