Recap: Furman vs. Ga Southern

Greenville, SC (Sports Network) - Charlie Reddick scored 20 points on a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor and 5-of-5 from 3-point range to lead the Furman Paladins to an 81-74 victory over the Georgia Southern Eagles in a Southern Conference tilt at Timmons Arena.

Bobby Austin was also perfect from behind the arc, making all three of his attempts, en route to 17 points for Furman (6-13, 3-5 SoCon) while Colin Reddick dropped 12 points before fouling out. Stephen Croone and Bryant Irwin also reached double-digits with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

C.J. Reed led GSU (9-13, 3-6) with 20 points and a game-high five assists, while Eric Ferguson added 14 points.

Georgia Southern led 21-16 midway through the first half before Furman exploded for 30 points in the final 9:12 of the frame. The Paladins shot a scorching 72 percent from the field in the first period, including 8-of-12 from behind the arc. Furman led 46-31 at the break.

The Paladins held GSU in check in the early stages of the second half before the Eagles mounted a 22-6 run, capped by two free throws by Tre Bussey, to take a one-point lead with 5:05 remaining. The home team responded though by scoring 11 of the next 14 points, including consecutive triples by Austin with less than two minutes remaining to put the game away.

Furman shot 64.3 percent from the floor for the game, its highest level of accuracy on the season.
