Recap: UNC Greensboro vs. Wofford

Greensboro, NC (Sports Network) - Trevis Simpson scored 19 points to lead the UNC Greensboro Spartans to a 71-52 win over the Wofford Terriers in Southern Conference action at Greensboro Coliseum.

Derrell Armstrong added 16 points and collected nine rebounds while Kelvin McNeil put in 13 points off the bench for UNC Greensboro (4-12, 2-3 SoCon) which had lost seven of its previous eight.

Spencer Collins totaled 12 points and Karl Cochran tacked on 11 for Wofford (7-11, 1-4) which has lost six of its last seven.

At the end of the first half UNC Greensboro led 43-30 after shooting 50 percent in the first 20 minutes while holding Wofford to just a 35.5 percent showing from the field.

Despite cooling to 33.3 percent shooting in the second half, the Spartans were able to coast to victory behind a 15-6 edge from the free-throw line.

The Spartans forced 17 turnovers which they converted into 21 points and had a 43-25 edge in rebounds.
