Bethlehem, PA (Sports Network) - Desmond Wade scored 26 points and made the game-winning three-pointer in the final minute as the Fairfield Stags held off the Fordham Rams, 74-71, as part of the NIT Season Tip-Off at Stabler Arena.

Wade shot 9-of-16 from the field, including 6-of-12 from three-point range for Fairfield (3-2), and the 26 points was just one off his career-high. Amadou Sidibe tallied 10 points and eight rebounds for the Stags.

For Fordham (1-4), Branden Frazier recorded 22 points and seven assists, Jeffrey Short put up 17 points, and Travion Leonard chipped in 10 points.

The Rams shot a lofty 60 percent from the field in the first half while the Stags made just 40.7 percent of their field goal attempts, but Fairfield managed to take a 40-37 lead into intermission by going 13-of-14 from the foul line.

Fairfield led by 10 with 8:03 left to play in the second half, but Fordham ripped off a 21-11 run to tie the game at 71-71 on a Bryan Smith layup with 45 seconds remaining. Out of a timeout, Wade drilled the three-pointer to take the lead with 17 seconds left. On their final possession, the Rams missed a three-pointer, grabbed an offensive rebound, and missed another trey before time expired.

The Stags hit 23-of-26 from the line in the game, while the Rams went just 7- of-11 from the stripe.
