Recap: Miss State vs. Marquette

Maui, HI (Sports Network) - Vander Blue scored 18 points and the Marquette Golden Eagles dominated the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 89-62, at the Maui Invitational.

Davante Gardner added 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Golden Eagles (3-1), who bounced back from a 72-71 loss to Butler on Monday. Trent Lockett and Jamil Wilson ended with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Marquette will play USC on Wednesday. The Trojans beat Texas in overtime on Tuesday.

Fred Thomas had 17 points to pace the Bulldogs (1-3), who lost to North Carolina, 95-49, on Monday. Roquez Johnson tallied 16 points and eight boards.
