Recap: USC vs. Marquette

Maui, HI (Sports Network) - Jamil Wilson scored 19 points to lead the Marquette Golden Eagles to a 72-64 win over the USC Trojans for fifth place in the EA Sports Maui Invitational.

Wilson shot 7-of-9 from the field and was 3-of-4 from three-point range while pulling down six rebounds in the Golden Eagles' (4-1) victory. Three other teammates joined him in double-figures including Davante Gardner who came off the bench with 12 points and six rebounds. Junior Cadougan added 11 points and six assists while Chris Otule contributed 10 points.

J.T. Terrell tallied 21 points for the Trojans (3-2) in their loss. Byron Wesley added 12 points and Eric Wise chipped in 11.

Marquette led 39-27 at halftime after the team shot 48.4 percent from the floor while holding USC to 32.0 percent.

The Trojans battled back in the second half and outscored the Eagles 37-33 on 44.2 percent shooting but were unable to complete the comeback.

Marquette was the superior team inside with a 35-31 edge in rebounds while outscoring the Trojans 34-18 on points in the paint.
