Recap: Fla Gulf Coast vs. Stetson

Macon, GA (Sports Network) - Sherwood Brown led all scorers with 18 points as the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles ran past the Stetson Hatters, 72-58, in the semifinal round on the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament at Hawkins Arena.

Bernard Thompson stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and four steals for seconded-seeded FGSU (23-10), while Chase Fieler and Eric McKnight netted 11 and 10 points, respectively.

For third-seeded Stetson (15-16), which shot less than 34 percent from the field, Adam Pegg had 17 points and eight rebounds, while Chris Perez scored 15 points.

FGCU has advanced to Saturday's championship bout to take on top-seeded Mercer.
