Recap: Morgan State vs. SC State

Norfolk, VA (Sports Network) - Anthony Hubbard paced four teammates in double- digits with 16 points as the Morgan State Bears overcame a halftime deficit to take down the South Carolina State Bulldogs, 61-52, in the opening round of the Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference Tournament at Norfolk Scope Arena.

Dewayne Jackson scored 12 points for the fifth-seeded Bears (15-14), who trailed by three at intermission before taking control of the game in the second half with a 15-4 run. Ian Chiles and Shaquille Duncan added 10 points apiece.

The 12th-seeded Bulldogs (6-24) were paced by 17 points and 10 rebounds from Matthew Hezekiah, his seventh-double-double of the year. Darryl Palmer and Khalif Toombs added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Morgan State is set to take on fourth-seeded Savannah State in the quarterfinal round on Thursday.
