Recap: Bethune-Cookman vs. Coppin State

Norfolk, VA (Sports Network) - Adrien Coleman scored 28 points and Kevin Dukes added a season-high 22 to lead Bethune-Cookman to an 89-78 victory over Coppin State in a MEAC Tournament first-round clash.

Javoris Bryant also had a big day for the eighth-seeded Wildcats (13-19), who advance to a quarterfinal matchup against No. 1 seed Norfolk State on Wednesday, pulling down a game-high 10 rebounds to go along with 19 points.

Bethune-Cookman trailed 33-32 at the half, but shot 57.1 percent in outscoring the Eagles by a 57-45 margin in the second period.

Taariq Cephas finished with 27 points for ninth-seeded Coppin State (8-24), with Andre Armstrong netting 17 in the loss.
