Recap: Norfolk State vs. Bethune-Cookman

Norfolk, VA (Sports Network) - Adrien Coleman finished with 24 points and 13 rebounds to lift the eight-seeded Bethune-Cookman Wildcats to a 70-68 overtime upset of the top-seeded Norfolk State Spartans in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament.

Kevin Dukes and Paul Scotland tallied 11 points each for Bethune-Cookman (14-19), which will play the winner of the Morgan State and Savannah State matchup in the semifinals.

Pendarvis Williams paced Norfolk State (21-11) with 19 points and five assists. Kris Brown added 15 points while Rashid Gaston scored 12 points and came up just one rebound shy of a double-double. Rob Johnson chipped in 10 points in the losing effort.

The Wildcats dominated the rebounding battle, 47-34. Coleman tied the game in regulation with just over a minute remaining as he dropped in a layup. Neither team managed to score again before the second half ended. Scotland gave Bethune-Cookman some breathing room in the closing seconds of the extra session with a made free-throw attempt before Williams's last second game- tying attempt fell off the mark.
