Recap: Evansville vs. Indiana State

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Justin Gant made a free throw with 2.5 seconds remaining and Devonte Brown blocked Ned Cox's shot just before the buzzer as the Indiana State Sycamores snuck past the Evansville Purple Aces, 51-50, in the quarterfinals of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.

Gant was fouled and went to the foul line with 2.5 tickls left on the clock. He made the second shot to put the fifth-seeded Sycamores ahead by one, 51-50.

Evansville's length-of-the-court pass was deflected to Cox, who seemed to have an open layup. Brown came flying in and blocked Cox's shot to secure the victory for Indiana State.

Gant ended with seven points and six rebounds for the Sycamores (18-13), who will play the top-seeded Creighton Bluejays in Saturday's semifinals. Brown and RJ Mahurin added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Egidijus Mockevicius ended with 11 points and seven boards for the fourth- seeded Purple Aces (18-14), who ended the regular season with an 84-68 win over Indiana State on March 2. D.J. Balentine had 10 points.
