Recap: Creighton vs. Indiana State

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Doug McDermott went 8-of-10 from the floor and 6-of-7 from beyond the arc to score 25 points as the top-seeded Creighton Bluejays coasted to a 64-43 victory over the Indiana State Sycamores in the semifinal round of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.

McDermott also grabbed nine rebounds for Creighton (25-7), which also received 10 points from Gregory Echenique. The Bluejays will defend their conference tournament title from 2012 against Wichita State in the championship on Sunday.

Manny Arop led Indiana State (18-13) with 13 points.

Creighton made five of its first six shots to take an early 14-2 lead and never looked back. The Bluejays connected on 8-of-11 from 3-point range and limited Indiana State to 25 percent shooting from the floor in the first half to take a comfortable, 41-18, lead into the intermission.

The Sycamores could not locate their shooting touch after halftime as they went 7-of-25 from the field. Creighton converted all eight of its free-throw attempts in the final 20 minutes to arrive at the 21-point decision.
