Recap: California vs. Utah

Las Vegas, NV (Sports Network) - Jared DuBois led the way with 21 points, including the game-tying 3-pointer at the end of regulation to force overtime, as the tenth-seeded Utah Utes upended the second-seeded California Golden Bears, 79-69, in a Pac-12 Tournament quarterfinal matchup at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

For the Utes (15-17), Jordan Loveridge added 20 points, eight in overtime, while Jason Washburn finished with 18 points and Brandon Taylor chipped in with 10 points. Knocking off the higher seed for the second straight night, the Utes now face Oregon Friday night in the semifinals.

Justin Cobbs led all scorers with 26 points, while Allen Crabbe scored 21 points and Richard Solomon pulled down 11 rebounds for the Golden Bears (20-11).

Cal took a 33-32 lead into the break. They shot 46.2 percent from the field and 3-of-7 from long range. Utah connected on 54.2 percent from the field and 4-of-10 from beyond the 3-point arc, but its was outscored 6-2 from the free- throw line.

Cal opened the second half on a 11-4 run to extend its lead to eight. The Utes responded, eventually taking a brief lead, and the teams played close down the stretch. Crabbe drained two free throws with 16 seconds remaining to give the Golden Bears a three-point advantage, 59-56, but DuBois answered with a 3- pointer at the buzzer to send the game to overtime tied at 59-59.

In the extra session, Utah scored the first five points and never looked back as it continued its unlikely romp through the conference tournament.

Cal outrebounded Utah, 40-30. The Utes had a slight edge on points in the paint, 24-22.
