Recap: South Dakota St vs. IUPU-Ft Wayne

Sioux Falls, SD (Sports Network) - Nate Wolters scored 18 points and dished out 12 assists as the top-seeded South Dakota State Jackrabbits used a strong second half to take down the fifth-seeded IUPU-Fort Wayne Mastodons, 72-56, in the semifinal round of the Summit League Tournament at Sioux Falls Arena.

Chad White poured in 17 points on 4-of-5 from 3-point range for SDSU (24-9), which has advanced to the championship game to take on North Dakota State. Tony Fiegen added 16 points, while Jordan Dykstra logged nine points and nine rebounds for the Jackrabbits, who shots a lofty 61.5 percent from the field on the night.

Frank Gaines led all scorers with 25 points for IPFW (16-17), which saw its season-long six-game win streak come to an end.

IPFW started the game red-hot, getting out to a 23-11 lead less than nine minutes in, but SDSU climbed back to make its deficit just two, 34-32, heading into halftime.

With the game tied at 45-45 early in the second half, the Jackrabbits pulled away thanks to a 22-3 run over the next eight minutes.

SDSU made up for a game-high 15 turnovers by shooting 15-of-17 from the free- throw line.
