Recap: San Francisco vs. Loyola Marymount

San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Anthony Ireland scored 16 points as the ninth-seeded Loyola-Marymount Lions upset the fifth-seeded San Francisco Dons, 61-60, in an overtime matchup during the second round of the West Coast Conference Tournament at Orleans Arena.

Godwin Okonji (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Ashley Hamilton (14 points, 11 rebounds) each had double-doubles for LMU (10-22) while Taylor Walker added 13 points. The Lions will move on to face No. 4 seed Santa Clara in the quarterfinals.

Cole Dickerson posted a 23-point, 18-rebound double-double and Mark Tollefsen added 12 points for San Francisco (14-16).

At halftime, LMU held a slim 29-26 lead after shooting 46.4 percent from the field while San Francisco was just off that pace at 42.3 percent.

With the Dons trailing by five points with just 38 seconds remaining, Dickerson took over nailing a 3-pointer and tipping in a missed layup from Tim Derksen to force overtime.

In the extra session the Dons didn't notch a field goal until Dickerson hit a 3-pointer with just a second remaining that proved irrelevant. The Lions made 3-of-4 from the free-throw line during the period to secure the win.
