Recap: Campbell vs. Savannah State

Buies Creek, NC (Sports Network) - Rashad Hassan recorded a team-high 19 points off the bench as the Savannah State Tigers defeated the Campbell Fighting Camels, 69-63, as part of the annual BrackeBusters series at Gore Arena.

Deven Williams chipped in 14 points off the bench for the Tigers (17-10). Preston Blackman contributed 13 points as Savannah State moved to a five-game winning streak.

For the Fighting Camels (12-17), Reco McCarter recorded a double-double with a game-high 21 points and 12 boards off the bench. Trey Freeman and Leek Leek added 13 points apiece as Campbell had a two-game winning streak snapped.

In the first half, both teams managed only two 3-pointers. Campbell was 13- of-29 from the floor, while Savannah State made 15-of-27 field goal attempts, en route to a 38-33 advantage at the break.

Savannah State made 10-of-21 from the floor including a perfect 2-of-2 from long-range in the second. Campbell was held to a mere 1-of-8 beyond the arc, as Savannah took the six-point victory.

Campbell committed 25 personal fouls, while Savannah State controlled points in the paint, 34-20.
