Recap: Loyola-Chicago vs. Kent State

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Chris Evans posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Kent State Golden Flashes took down the Loyola- Chicago Ramblers in a BracketBusters matchup at Gentile Arena.

Kris Brewer had 14 points, Randal Holt added 13 and Darren Goodson chipped in 12 for Kent State (15-12) which has won four of its last six games.

Christian Thomas had game-highs in points (31) and rebounds (11) for Loyola- Chicago (14-14) which also got 10 points from Devon Turk. The Ramblers have lost six of their last seven.

Both teams shot well in the first half. Kent State hit 55.2 percent from the floor and led 38-33 at the break while Loyola shot 53.8 percent.

In the second half the Golden Flashes limited the Ramblers to just nine field goals on 36 percent shooting to hold on for the win.

Kent State outscored Loyola, 18-9, from beyond the arc while owning a slim 34-31 edge in rebounds.
