Recap: Central Arkansas vs. SIU Edwardsville

Conway, AR (Sports Network) - LaQuentin Miles scored 20 points and was a rebound short of a double-double as the Central Arkansas Bears rallied for an 80-78 victory over the SIU Edwardsville in a BracketBusters conflict at the Farris Center.

Jarvis Garner added 19 points and Robert Crawford contributed 18 for Central Arkansas (9-17) which ended a five-game losing streak.

Tim Johnson put in 22 points to go with seven rebounds, Mark Yelovich had 20 points and eight boards and Kris Davis and Michael Messer each tallied 15 points for SIU Edwardsville (9-16) which has lost five of its last six.

At halftime the Cougars led 43-36 as they shot 54.5 percent from the field while the Bears lagged behind at 46.4 percent.

After the break the Bears heated up to 60.0 percent shooting as they roared back to take its first lead of the half, 71-69, with 4:43 remaining. The Bears then went 5-of-6 from the free-throw line in the final minutes to hold on for the win.

Central Arkansas outscored SIU Edwardsville, 46-28, in the paint.
