Recap: IUPU-Ft Wayne vs. Bowling Green

Fort Wayne, IN (Sports Network) - Frank Gaines netted 26 points to lead the IUPU-Fort Wayne Mastodons to an 88-75 win over the Bowling Green Falcons in a BracketBuster matchup at Memorial Coliseum.

Luis Jacobo, Mario Hines and Joe Reed scored 12 points apiece to help IPFW (14-16) collect its fourth straight decision.

Chauncey Orr shot 7-of-9 from the field en route to 17 points to pace Bowling Green (11-16) while Jordon Crawford had 14 points. Richard Holmes added 12 points off the bench on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor.

Joe Edwards assisted consecutive triples by Jacobo and Isaiah McCray as IPFW led 18-6 early on. The Mastodons shot 10-of-14 from behind the arc in the first half and led 43-26 at halftime.

Bowling Green got hot in the second half and hit 59.4 percent of its shots, but the Falcons were unable to slow down the Mastodons' attack to rally back.

IPFW won despite not registering a single second chance point. The Mastodons improved to 2-1 all-time against Bowling Green.
