Recap: Nebraska Omaha vs. North Dakota

Omaha, NE (Sports Network) - Justin Simmons scored 20 points and John Karhoff posted a double-double as the Nebraska Omaha Mavericks got past North Dakota, 83-75, in a BracketBusters matchup at Ralston Arena.

Karhoff had 17 points and 10 rebounds, Alex Welhouse added 13 points and C.J. Carter had 12 points and five assists for Nebraska Omaha (11-18) which has won three straight.

Troy Huff tallied 21 points and seven rebounds and Aaron Anderson tacked on 19 points for North Dakota (12-15) which had won two of its previous three.

The two teams were knotted at 41-41 at the end of the first half. North Dakota shot a superior 51.5 percent from the floor but the Mavericks hit 10-of-11 from the free-throw line.

After the break the Mavericks improved to an even 50 percent field goal percentage while North Dakota cooled to 35.1 percent.

The Mavericks doubled up North Dakota, 18-9, from the free-throw line.
