Recap: Oakland vs. Morehead State

Rochester, MI (Sports Network) - Travis Bader shot a perfect 10-of-10 from the free-throw line en route to 27 points to lead the Oakland Golden Grizzlies to an 82-79 overtime win over the Morehead State Eagles in a BracketBuster matchup at Athletics Center O'rena.

Ryan Bass notched 18 points for Oakland (16-14) while Drew Valentine contributed 15 points and eight rebounds. Dylan Mondy added 10 points and five assists off the bench.

Chad Posthumus led Morehead State (13-16) with 19 points and nine rebounds. Bruce Reed tallied 14 points while Angelo Warner and Milton Chavis each netted 12 points.

Despite shooting just 2-of-12 from behind the arc in the first half, Morehead State led 41-34 at halftime after outrebounding Oakland, 24-13. 11 of those rebounds came on the offensive end.

Oakland shot 50 percent from the floor in the second period to claw its way back into the game and take the lead. A Valentine layup with 1:28 remaining gave them a 74-67 edge but MSU scored the final seven points of regulation to tie the score and force overtime.

Dante Williams found Valentine early in the extra session for a triple to give Oakland a quick 77-74 advantage. Atkinson knotted the score with a 3-pointer of his own on the other end then Oakland then hit 5-of-8 from the foul line in the games final minutes while MSU went cold from the floor. Trailing by three with three seconds remaining, Kahlil Owens turned the ball over and Oakland survived.

Oakland improved to 1-1 in overtime games this season while Morehead State falls to 0-3.
