Recap: Alabama vs. Miss State

Tuscaloosa, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Behind a game-high 28 points from Trevor Releford, the Alabama Crimson Tide easily dismissed the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 80-61, in an SEC clash at Coleman Coliseum.

Releford shot 10-of-13 from the field, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range for Alabama (8-8, 2-1 SEC), which has won three of four. Retin Obasohan tallied 11 points, four blocks and three steals, while Rodney Cooper came off the bench to register 10 points for the hosts.

For Mississippi State (11-5, 1-2), Gavin Ware shot 7-of-8 from the field on his way to 18 points, while Craig Sword netted 12 but also committed five turnovers.

Alabama shot 48.1 percent from the field in the first half while holding Mississippi State to 40.7 percent shooting. The Tide closed out the stanza on an 8-1 run to take a 38-26 lead into halftime.

The Tide's advantage never dipped below double digits in the second half and their lead swelled to as many as 23.

Alabama shot an impressive 10-of-25 from beyond the arc on the evening, while Mississippi State made good on just 3-of-10 from long distance.
