Recap: Arkansas vs. South Carolina

Fayetteville, AK (SportsNetwork.com) - Michael Qualls finished with 20 points and eight rebounds as the Arkansas Razorbacks beat the South Carolina Gamecocks, 71-64, in a SEC tilt at Bud Walton Arena.

Coty Clarke had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Razorbacks (17-9, 6-7 SEC), who have won back-to-back contests.

Brenton Williams logged 29 points for the Gamecocks (10-16, 3-10).

Arkansas shot 53.8 percent from the floor in the first period, including 5- of-11 from beyond the arc, as it led 40-29 at intermission. South Carolina made 33.3 percent of its field goal attempts in the first 20 minutes.

The Razorbacks struggled in the second frame, as they made just eight field goals on 25 percent shooting. However, they held off the Gamecocks, who converted on 41.4 percent of their shots from the field in the second frame, by doubling their opponents up from the free-throw line (12-6).

Arkansas held a 42-35 rebounding advantage over South Carolina.
