Recap: Missouri vs. Georgia

Columbia, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - It was a grown-man effort for Georgia on Wednesday.

Charles Mann finished with 18 points and six rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to a 70-64 overtime win over the 21st-ranked Missouri Tigers.

Mann drove to the rim and scored with 34 seconds left in overtime to give Georgia a 65-63 lead it did not relinquish after Missouri missed its final two shots from the field.

Nemanja Djurisic totaled 16 points and five rebounds for the Bulldogs (7-6, 1-0 SEC), who host Alabama Saturday. Kenny Gaines and Brandon Morris added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Jabari Brown netted 19 points, Earnest Ross had 15 and Jordan Clarkson contributed 12 points for Missouri (12-2, 0-1), which will visit Auburn Saturday.

"It's really hard to say when a team just comes in and whips you, and they whipped us and kicked our tails. They deserve it. Give them a lot of credit," said Missouri head coach Frank Haith.

Missouri netted the first four points of overtime before Georgia surged for a 14-4 run to end the game. Djurisic nailed a trey to tie the game at 63 apiece with 1:40 left in extra time before the go-ahead bucket by Mann.

Clarkson halted the run with a free throw to make the score 66-64 with only 19 seconds left to play, but Gaines and Morris made a pair apiece from the stripe to put the game away for the Bulldogs.

"I was really proud of my team. We beat a very good team and it is a terrific win for us going into SEC play," Georgia head coach Mark Fox said.

With 6:55 left in regulation, Morris made a layup to tie the game at 43 apiece, the first of four ties over the final seven minutes.

Trailing by three, Mann put in two layups around a Gaines layup to give Georgia a 56-53 lead, however, Clarkson nailed a trey with 53.7 seconds left in regulation.

Gaines came up empty for the Bulldogs and Clarkson could not convert for West Virginia either to head into overtime.

Georgia opened the contest scoring the first eight points, however, Missouri chipped away at the early deficit and tied the game, 17-17, with 8:32 left in the half following a Clarkson layup.

The Bulldogs brought a 30-25 lead into the break.
