Recap: Ole Miss vs. Auburn

Oxford, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Derrick Millinghaus scored 16 points as the Ole Miss Rebels won a close game against the Auburn Tigers, 65-62, in a SEC matchup at Tad Smith Coliseum.

Jarvis Summers scored 14 points with four assists for the Rebels (10-4, 1-0 SEC). Aaron Jones scored 12 points and had seven rebounds with five blocks and five steals. LaDarius White added 10 points.

Chris Denson scored 28 points for the Tigers (8-4, 0-1). KT Harrell chipped in 11 points while Allen Payne brought down seven boards. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Auburn.

Ole Miss made just 38.7 percent of its field goal attempts and 4-of-10 from 3- point range in the first period, but held a 31-28 lead at the break. Auburn made 41.7 percent of its shots from the floor and 4-of-8 from beyond the arc but had seven fewer field goal attempts than the Rebels.

The Rebels made 50 percent of their shots from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc in the second half. The Tigers shot 37.5 percent on their field goal attempts and 4-of-14 from behind the 3-point line, but it was not enough to overcome Ole Miss.

Auburn turned the ball over 18 times , but managed a 40-30 edge on the boards.
