Recap: Tennessee vs. Morehead State

Knoxville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Josh Richardson scored 19 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Tennessee Volunteers posted an 82-67 win over the Eagles of Morehead State in non-conference play at Thompson- Boling Arena.

Jeronne Maymon accounted for 16 points and matched Richardson on the glass with eight rebounds, while Jarnell Stokes responded with 13 points and nine rebounds as the Volunteers (7-4) snapped a two-game slide. Derek Reese played just 19 minutes off the bench, but that was enough time to not only register a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, but also log four of the team's 11 blocked shots as well.

The Eagles (8-6), losers of three of the last four, were paced by Angelo Warner and Brent Arrington with 16 points apiece, followed by Drew Kelly who added 13 points and five rebounds before fouling out.

Morehead State led by a point early in the meeting, but that was before the Volunteers kicked their offense into gear with 60.7 percent shooting from the field and 4-of-8 behind the 3-point line, en route to a 41-30 advantage at the break.

After making good on 4-of-9 shots beyond the arc through the first 20 minutes, the Eagles missed all four chances in the second half, allowing Tennessee to cruise to the 15-point home win.

In addition to shooting 52.5 percent from the floor on the night, the Vols also dominated on the glass with a staggering 49-28 rebounding advantage.
