Recap: Clemson vs. Furman

Clemson, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Led by 16 points from Jordan Roper, the Clemson Tigers took down the Furman Paladins, 71-35, in a non-conference matchup at Littlejohn Coliseum.

For the Tigers (8-2), K.J. McDaniels and Devin Coleman both finished with 12 points, while Landry Nnoko pulled down 11 rebounds. Off the bench, Sidy Djitte accounted for eight points and 10 boards in just 15 minutes as the Tigers won for the third time in four tries.

Kendrec Ferrara led the Paladins (4-6) with 10 points, while Stephen Croone saw his nine points offset by nine turnovers.

Clemson connected on 50 percent of its field goal tries in the first half, but just 3-of-13 from beyond the arc. Furman struggled from the field, making only 36.4 percent of its shots. The Tigers used a 20-4 run over the final 10 minutes of the half to take a 38-19 lead into intermission.

After the break the Tigers again knocked down 50 percent of their shots from the floor, while holding the Paladins to just 23.8 percent shooting. Clemson pushed its lead to as many as 38 in the frame, as the Tigers coasted to victory, their 30th-straight over the Paladins.

The Tigers defense came up big, holding the Paladins to their the lowest point total since they bowed to South Carolina, 45-32, back on Dec. 10, 1963. Clemson dominated down low, doubling up Furman on points in the paint, 36-18, and outrebounding the visitors, 37-23.
