Recap: Wake Forest vs. Clemson

Winston-Salem, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Devin Thomas and Tyler Cavanaugh both scored 12 points as the Wake Forest Demon Deacons finally got back into the win column with a 62-57 triumph over the Clemson Tigers in an ACC battle at the Lawrence Joel Coliseum.

Also scoring in double figures for the Demon Deacons (15-13, 5-10 ACC), as they snapped a seven-game slide, were Arnaud Adala Moto and Codi Miller- McIntyre with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Miller-McIntyre also handed out six assists and pulled down five rebounds in the triumph.

Leading the Clemson (17-10, 8-7) offense was DaMarcus Harrison with a game- high 15 points, while Rod Hall and KJ McDaniels contributed 10 points apiece, but also accounted for four turnovers each as the team had a two-game win streak halted.

Both teams shot an even 50 percent from the field in the first half, the difference being Clemson converting 13 field goals and the Demon Deacons just eight, as the visitors moved out to a 30-23 advantage at the break.

However, the second half was a different story as the Tigers connected on only 35.7 percent from the floor, including 2-of-12 beyond the arc, not to mention 5-of-12 at the free-throw line. The hosts stepped up their efforts with 59.1 percent accuracy from the field, en route to the five-point win.

In a game that featured nine ties and seven lead changes Clemson, which held a lead as great as 10 in the meeting, was outscored 17-5 at the free-throw line.
