Recap: UCF vs. Florida State

Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Ian Miller came off the bench to score a game-high 18 points as the Florida State Seminoles posted an 80-68 victory over the UCF Knights in non-conference action at CFE Arena.

Miller shot just 1-of-6 behind the 3-point line for the Seminoles (2-0), but converted all seven of his free-throw attempts for the visitors. Devon Bookert accounted for 17 points, Okaro White 13 and Robert Gilchrist 10 points for FSU.

The Knights (1-1) were paced by Calvin Newell and Kasey Wilson who both dropped in 15 points, while Isaiah Sykes pitched in with 13 in the losing effort.

UCF led by as many as three points late in the first half, but a scoring burst by the Seminoles left the hosts with a 38-33 deficit at the break. The Knights shot only 3-of-11 behind the 3-point line through the first 20 minutes of action.

In the second half, despite converting only 13-of-24 at the charity stripe, Florida State pulled away by hitting on 51.9 percent from the field.

UCF turned the ball over 20 times and made good on just 11-of-21 at the free- throw line.
