Recap: Florida State vs. Charlotte

Tallahassee, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Aaron Thomas came off the bench to score a game-high 26 points, leading six players in double figures, as the Florida State Seminoles crushed the Charlotte 49ers, 106-62, in a non-conference affair at the Tucker Center.

Thomas, who played just 22 minutes, converted 10-of-14 shots from the floor and grabbed seven rebounds for the Seminoles (7-3), who won for the second time in as many games. Also in a reserve role, Ian Miller accounted for 18 points in 18 minutes, followed by Montay Brandon and Okaro White with 14 points apiece, the latter capturing a game-high 11 rebounds. Robert Gilchrist and Boris Bojanovsky pitched in with 11 points each.

The 49ers (7-3) were paced by Shawn Lester and his 16 points off the bench, but he shot just 1-of-7 behind the 3-point line and was guilty of six of the unit's 19 turnovers. Pierria Henry accounted for 13 points before fouling out, and Willie Clayton tallied 11 points and six boards as the squad lost for the second time in the last three outings.

Charlotte led by three points early on in the meeting, but the team couldn't slow down FSU at the other end of the floor, allowing the Seminoles to log a total of 19 field goals and go 9-of-11 at the free-throw line, en route to a comfortable 52-30 lead at the break.

In the second half, Florida State increased its shooting accuracy from 47.5 percent from the floor through the first 20 minutes to 62.5 percent, cruising to the impressive 44-point triumph.

While the game was out of reach for much of the night, the 49ers didn't do themselves any favors when Henry was ejected after picking up a pair of technical fouls, and Clayton was also sent out of the game when he was called for a flagrant-2 foul in the second half.

The offensive output for the Seminoles was their highest since putting up 108 points against Campbell back in 2005.

Johnson headlines FCS players of the week

In 2013, the Montana State Bobcats made a bit of an offensive switch, going from a pass-heavy system to a more run- integrated style of play. The reason wasn't because the team was unstable at quarterback, but rather due to the fact the Bobcats were loaded at the running back position.

Steelers to bring back Harrison
