Recap: Florida State vs. Notre Dame

Tallahassee, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Ian Miller nailed a shot in the paint with four seconds to play, lifting the Florida State Seminoles to a 76-74 victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in an ACC thriller at the Tucker Center.

Aaron Thomas paced Florida State (13-5, 4-2 ACC) with 20 points. Okaro White tallied a double-double off the bench (12 points, 11 rebounds), Miller chipped in 11 points and Devon Bookert tacked on 10. The Seminoles have won four of their last five.

Eric Atkins dropped in a game-high 24 points to go with five assists and Garrick Sherman hung up a double-double (21 points, 10 rebounds) for Notre Dame (11-8, 2-4), which has lost four of its last five. Pat Connaughton collected 10 rebounds, but had only nine points on 3-of-12 shooting.

Florida State entered halftime leading 41-33. The Seminoles shot 64 percent from the field in the first period and limited the Irish to just 40 percent.

Notre Dame rallied in the second frame by shooting 55.2 percent from the field. The Irish used a 10-2 run over a five minute span to tie the game at 74-74, capped by a layup from Connaughton with 34 seconds to play. However, the tie was broken 30 seconds later when Miller hit the game-winner.

The Irish had a 17-9 scoring advantage in second chance points. Florida State knocked down 8-of-16 shots from 3-point range.
