Recap: Pittsburgh vs. Florida State

Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Okaro White scored 22 points and pulled down eight rebounds as the Florida State Seminoles outlasted the Pittsburgh Panthers, 71-66, in an Atlantic Coast Conference tilt at Petersen Events Center.

Ian Miller netted 19 points with five assists for Florida State (16-11, 7-8 ACC). Aaron Thomas chipped in with 14 points, hitting 11-of-12 from the free- throw line, and Montay Brandon grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds in the win. The Seminoles have won two of their last three games played.

Lamar Patterson tallied 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists to lead Pittsburgh (20-7, 8-6). Cameron Wright contributed 12 points, and Talib Zanna brought in a team-high 14 boards in the loss. The Panthers have dropped three straight contests.

Florida State was hot in the first half, netting 54.2 percent of its shot attempts, including 4-of-9 from 3-point range. The Seminoles took a 37-31 lead at the midway break after Pittsburgh could only connect on 38.5 percent of its field goal tries in the frame.

The second half was ugly for the Seminoles, who hit just 27.3 percent of their shots, but did make 20-of-24 from the free-throw line. The Panthers were only able to knock one point off FSU's first-half lead, hitting 35.7 percent of their attempts in the period.

Florida State had the slight edge in points off turnovers, 14-10, and won the battle from the free-throw line, 27-18. Pittsburgh held the advantage in bench points, 14-10.
