Recap: UNC Greensboro vs. NC State

Greensboro, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - T.J. Warren paced all scorers with 24 points, as the NC State Wolfpack held off the UNC Greensboro Spartans, 68-64, in a non-conference clash at Greensboro Coliseum.

Warren shot 9-of-18 from the field and grabbed nine rebounds for NC State (10-3), which has won eight of its last nine games. Anthony Barber contributed 17 points and six assists for the visitors, while Desmond Lee poured in 15 points.

For UNCG (7-8), Kayel Locke scored 19 points, Tevon Saddler netted 18 off the bench and Kyle Cain tallied 11 points and eight rebounds.

UNCG held a lead as large as seven in the first half, but NC State ultimately carried a 38-35 advantage into intermission by outshooting the Spartans from the floor in the opening 20 minutes, 43.8 percent to 35.8 percent.

The Wolfpack caught fire at the beginning of the second half, ripping off a 16-2 surge to take a 17-point lead with 16:03 to play. The Spartans chipped away at that deficit to make it just a two-point game, 66-64, with under a minute to play, but while NC State couldn't bury them at the foul line down the stretch (2-of-4), they failed to take advantage as the Wolfpack held on.

UNCG was plagued by 16 turnovers, which resulted in 24 points for NC State. The Wolfpack coughed the ball up just 12 times themselves.
