Recap: Virginia vs. Northern Iowa

Charlottesville, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Justin Anderson paced all scorers with 16 points as the Virginia Cavaliers dismissed the Northern Iowa Panthers, 57-43, in non-conference action at John Paul Jones Arena.

Joe Harris added 12 points and seven rebounds for Virginia (8-3), which snapped a two-game losing streak.

For UNI (5-6), Seth Tuttle tallied a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

In a sloppy first half, neither team shot greater than 30 percent from the field, but Virginia managed to take a 21-16 lead at the break by draining four 3-pointers.

The Cavaliers shot a much-improved 46.2 percent in the second stanza and they never surrendered the lead.

UNI shot just 31.7 percent from the field on the afternoon, including 2-of-19 from beyond the arc. The Panthers were also plagued by 13 turnovers.
