Recap: Wake Forest vs. Tulane

Winston-Salem, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Coron Williams scored 18 points as the Wake Forest Demon Deacons defeated the Tulane Green Wave, 72-57, in a non- conference matchup at Lawrence Joel Coliseum. . Codi Miller-McIntyre scored 12 points and pulled down six rebounds for Wake Forest (7-2). Tyler Cavanaugh added 11 points.

Louis Dabney scored a career-high 29 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the floor for the Green Wave (4-5). Jonathan Stark chipped in 10 points and five assists while Tre Drye paced the team on the glass with eight boards.

The Demon Deacons shot 44.8 percent on field goal tries and 38.5 percent on shots from 3-point range in the first half, allowing them to take a 34-27 lead into the intermission. Tulane shot poorly, making 2-of-8 from beyond the arc and only 37 percent of its shots from the field.

Wake Forest shot an impressive 58.3 percent on shots from the floor in the second period. Tulane made 46.2 percent of its field goal attempts. The Demon Deacons controlled the inside by outscoring the visitors 22-14 in the paint.

The home team edged the Green Wave in the rebounding totals, 39-24, and also had the superior bench as its reserves outscored Tulane's backups, 34-5.
