Recap: Pittsburgh vs. Fresno State

Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Talib Zanna posted a double-double to help the Pittsburgh Panthers to a 75-54 triumph over the Fresno State Bulldogs at Petersen Events Center.

Zanna scored 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting and also collected 10 rebounds for Pittsburgh (2-0). Cameron Wright added 13 points and Lamar Patterson dished out seven assists.

Paul Watson netted 18 points and Cezar Guerrero tallied 10 points and seven assists for Fresno State (1-1).

Despite missing all five of their shots from beyond the arc in the first half, the Panthers dominated the opening period. They shot at a 46.9 percent clip and held the Bulldogs to just seven field goals to take a 35-18 lead into intermission.

Pittsburgh connected on 42.9 percent of its field goal tries in the second half, but again missed every attempt from beyond the arc (0-of-6). However the Bulldogs were unable to make up the big deficit despite improving to 44.4 percent shooting.

Pittsburgh had a big advantage on Fresno State in points in the paint (52-14) and points off turnovers (18-5).
