Recap: Iowa vs. UNC-Wilmington

Iowa City, IA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarrod Uthoff scored 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench as the Iowa Hawkeyes crushed the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks, 82-39, in non-conference play at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Hawkeyes (1-0) were Peter Jok and Aaron White with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Seahawks (0-1) were paced by Cedrick Williams who tallied a game-high 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field, adding a game-high nine rebounds as well. Addison Spruill pitched in with 10 points in a reserve role.

UNCW fell behind early, shooting a mere 5-of-26 from the floor in the first half, en route to a 48-12 deficit at the break. Iowa made good on 51.5 percent from the field and outscored the visitors 12-1 at the free-throw line in the period.

The second half was more of the same for the Seahawks as they converted only 23.9 percent from the field and hit 1-of-15 behind the 3-point line.

UNC-Wilmington shot only 2-of-23 on the perimeter, turned the ball over 14 times and was beaten on the glass, 56-43.

The Hawkeyes played without Josh Oglesby who broke a bone in his right foot during Wednesday night's practice. He is expected to be out of action for approximately six weeks.
