Recap: Kansas State vs. Tulane

Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Shane Southwell scored 19 points in leading the Kansas State Wildcats to a 72-41 rout of the Tulane Green Wave during the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival at the Barclays Center.

Nigel Johnson added 13 points off the bench for Kansas State (9-3), which has won seven straight.

Jonathan Stark tallied 10 points but also had seven turnovers for Tulane (7-7), which had no other players in double figures.

Kansas State nailed six shots from beyond the arc and allowed just three total field goals to Tulane in the first half. The Wildcats' defensive efforts earned them a 28-10 lead at the break.

After halftime the Wildcats hit on 45.7 percent from the floor, including 6- of-11 from beyond the arc, to coast to victory.

Kansas State outscored Tulane, 14-3, in points off turnovers and 26-12 on points in the paint.
