Recap: Oklahoma vs. Louisiana Tech
Norman, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Alex Hamilton finished with a career-high 31 points to lead the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs over the Oklahoma Sooners in overtime, 102-98, in a non-conference matchup at the Lloyd Noble Center.
Raheem Appleby added 22 points for Bulldogs (11-3), while Cordarius Johnson finished with 17 and Kenneth Smith dished out nine assists.
For the Sooners (11-2), Cameron Clark led the way with 26 points, while Ryan Spangler posted a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds, Jordan Woodard finished with 13 points , Frank Booker and Isaiah Cousins each added 12 and Buddy Hield chipped in with 10.
The teams shot an identical 44.1 percent in the first half, both making 15- of-34 of its shots from the field, as the teams went into halftime tied at 39-39.
After the break, the Bulldogs made 46.9 percent of their field goal tries and the Sooners hit on 41.2 percent of their shots from the floor as the teams traded leads throughout the second half. After two free throws by Smith put Louisiana Tech up three with just nine seconds to play in regulation, Clark grabbed an offensive rebound off a Woodard miss and knocked down a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.
In the extra session, the Sooners led 95-91 with 1:46 to play, but the Bulldogs outscored them 11-3 down the stretch, making 9-of-10 free throws during that span to pull out the victory.
Louisiana Tech was more effective with the deep ball, outscoring Oklahoma 30-15 from beyond the arc. The Sooners had the advantage in the paint, outscoring the Bulldogs, 46-36.Game Notes
